Farmers’ Markets Are Back In The Riviera Nayarit

Winter is almost here and with it comes the best time of the year when it comes to tourism, which is why the Riviera Nayarit’s micro destinations are firing up their organic or artisanal farmers’ markets, or tianguis, offering tourists another fun attraction.

Most of these bustling commercial areas open for business in November and welcome visitors through the end of April or beginning of May of next year. Handicrafts, organic products, home-cooked food, accessories, jewelry, pottery, yoga classes, live music and more are for sale. Heading from south to north, here is a list of the most relevant:

Nuevo Vallarta’s Riviera Nayarit Farmers’ Market is held every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the Business Center; on Saturdays the Tianguis Artesanal Nuevo Vallarta is held at the Marina Nuevo Vallarta with the same hours.

There are three tianguis held in Bucerías, all on Lázaro Cárdenas street: On Mondays it’s the aptly named Monday Market and on Wednesdays it’s Forever Spring, both from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; in the afternoons visitors can browse the Bucerías Art Walk.

The Cruz Sunday Market graces the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nearby, the always-open Mercado del Mar welcomes those in search of fresh seafood.

Sayulita and its Mercado del Pueblo await visitors on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 pm. on Revolución street while the Mercado del Sol in San Pancho is open at the Plaza del Sol on Tuesdays during the same time period.

The Tianguis Lo de Marcos is held on Luis Echeverría street on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The municipality of Compostela’s Rincón de Guayabitos has joined in with its Guayabitos Market on the main plaza in town on Mondays; La Peñita de Jaltemba opens its La Peñita Market on Thursdays on its main plaza. Both are held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Chacala Cultural Market is opening on Saturdays starting on November 19th, from9:00am to 1:00pm in the main Plaza.

Celebrate The Season With Holiday Dinners At Aulani A Disney Resort

Sandals Resorts has unveiled a new unique place for couples to say “I do” at Sandals Grande St. Lucian – the “Overwater Serenity Wedding Chapel.”

Located at the most southwestern point of the resort, the open-air, glass aisled chapel boasts panoramic views of Rodney Bay and is the first of its kind in the Caribbean.

The layout allows guests to see the view of the water below, which will enhance the wedding ceremony with its natural surroundings. The space can host up to 20 seated guests. Why Does A Room Category Matter?

I hear it a lot!

“It doesn’t matter the room, I won’t be in there anyway!”

Truth is you will be in the room and let’s talk about it. I have stayed in super swanky suites and I have stayed in dumpy hotel rooms.  Yes it matters!  Sleep is important.  People sleep better when they are in comfortable settings.  Wouldn’t you sleep better in this room? Can you imagine the dancing and singing you do in the Shower?

I even sound better singing in a nice shower! LOL

What makes a resort different?

Resort management that stays near the property and takes pride in what they offer to guests. From the suites to the dining options all the way to the welcoming staff!  If a resorts cuts back on the rooms that you do see and sleep in, think about what you don’t see that they are cutting back in.

Just “chew” on that for a minute.

I am writing a series about room categories and showcasing different resort that I have stayed in. Yes the FABULOUS and the GOOD!

When you see room categories don’t get scared! Call me and let’s get you in the room that is perfect for you! Don’t overpay for what you don’t need but don’t stay in a dump either!  Room Categories will not always explain what is in the suite or tell you that the OCEANFRONT suite you are paying for really isn’t that close to the ocean!

                            There is a difference between an Oceanview Suite and a Oceanfront Suite.                                   There is also a difference between an Oceanview and a PARTIAL oceanview.  There are some rooms that are loud, you will be sorry! Those are the cheapest in a resort! I will never sell you a room or suite that you don’t want. Mainly because I think a budget is the most important vacation topic.

 I don’t want any client disappointed.
